OOTD - Vintage Faux Fur For Spring

This past Easter weekend I was lucky enough to spend time surrounded by family at my parent's cottage.  This is my first year being at a cottage during the colder months and I have to say: I'm charmed.  The scenery is absolutely breathtaking and the crisp air was just what this city girl needed. Not one to ever dress properly for an occasion, while my family was lounging in comfy sweats and warm plaid, I was channeling the 70s in vintage [faux] fur, a patterned dress and my favourite hat.  Sure, I may have gotten more than a few confused looks from the neighbours but I stand by my outfit choice.  Hey, if you can't have a little fun with family at the cottage, then when can you?  Read on for all outfit details and additional photos.

Faux Fur Coat - Asos, Dress - Target, Hat - American Apparel, Boots - Frye

Do you have an over-the-top item in your closet that just makes you happy every time that you wear it?  I definitely feel giddy every time I put on this faux fur coat from Asos, and love how it instantly takes an otherwise ordinary outfit and turns it into something special.  The quality of the faux fur is fantastic, and the jacket is so warm - which I totally needed this weekend, because girlfriend it was cold.

I received these Frye carmen harness boots as a gift years ago and while I don't reach for them that often, my feet always love me when I do - they are so comfortable!  Fun fact - I actually wore these boots during the move to our new place in the city.

Yes, this is definitely not your typical cottage outfit but then again who has time for typical?  Hashtag no regrets.  How did you spend your Easter holiday?

  1. 70s is the one trend that I can't seem to get on board with...yet. But this outfit is so charming on you!!

    1. Thanks Kris! I'm diving in full force - I've always felt like the 70s was the decade my spirit belonged in #crazylady. My next hunt is for the perfect pair of wood platforms.
