OOTD - Vintage Faux Fur Coat

Happy Monday Noobs!  It's gearing up to be another cold week here in Toronto, but I can't complain too much - it is January after all! It's hard to muster up the creativity to think of new outfits when it's so cold out, since all I want to do is hide underneath my parka.  Having some fun with different coats is my way to play with my style, and this vintage faux-fur jacket is no exception.  Faux fur is everywhere nowadays, but what drew me to this jacket is the quality - it's so soft, it keeps me warm, and doesn't look cheap at all! Add one of my beloved hats, and I'm ready to take on the cold weather - sans parka!  Read on for all outfit details and additional photos.

Vintage Faux Fur Jacket - Asos, Pants - Topshop, Booties - Target
Hat - American Apparel

I had bought this vintage faux fur coat in the 'petite' size because I often have trouble with sleeves being too long for me.  I'm happy to report that the sleeves on this coat fit me just fine - however, because this is a 'petite' size, I feel as though the length is a tad too short and the length creates a less-than-flattering silhouette.  Oh well, trade offs right?

Are you feeling the faux fur trend?  Could you see yourself wearing a vintage style coat like this, or is is bordering on a bit ridiculous - I'll admit when I first tried it on I felt a bit pimpish, but that's part of the fun!

  1. I don't think I could pull off a faux-fur coat. It looks great on you but I would definitely feel "pimpish" as you said! Ha!

  4. You coat is beautiful, I got a nice chocolate brown one for this winter and it's so warm. I love these hats at the moment too! It's crazily windy here so it wouldn't last two minutes x

    1. Haha, yes the hat is a challenge to wear on windy days here too - definitely something I save for milder winter days! I'm glad that you like the coat!

  6. Love this outfit lady! Looking so chic. I find it so hard to express my style though these colder months but the jacket offers the perfect opportunity. Hope you're keeping warm! How cold is it.

  7. Great advice for buying a petite size! I always find the sleeves on coats too long for me too. I don't think the length looks too short on you at all! Looks great :)

This is my first winter in Southern Ontario (I'm from Atlanta) but I'm already dreaming of warmer weather. Layering has been my best friend this season! Brrr....

  9. I'm about to buy the jacket. Does it have any bottoms, zippers - something? :-)

  10. That fur coat is so cute! And I bet it's really warm, too, which is even more important at this time of year. Maybe I should invest in one. I'm kind of tired of being cold in my thin little trendy jacket. I can be cute and warm at the same time. http://www.hsgfur.ca/coats.html
