Happy Friday Noobs! Today is the start of an extra-extended long weekend for me, and we're getting out of the city and spending our time by the lake. Relaxing - right? Unfortunately my car, who has an uncanny ability to know to give me troubles in the most inconvenient of times, decides to start stuttering and jerking on my way home from work yesterday. As a result my relaxing morning off now consists of dealing with the car problem, packing for the weekend and shlepping myself, my stuff and my chihuahua across the city on public transit to get to my parent's place - the joy! I was feeling grumpy about the whole situation last night, and when my husband suggested that we get a drink I didn't even bother to change - I just threw my hair into a messy top know, put on a pair of leopard flats and went. As we were enjoying a cocktail in our lakeside community, I started to feel a little silly about my reaction to the situation. Life never goes according to plans, and in terms of shake-ups car troubles are so minor it's almost embarrassing to get worked up over. Besides, who can feel down when you're wearing a cute mint swing skit, a striped tank and a pair of leopard flats? Read on for additional photos and outfit details.

I mentioned my sporadic onset of foot phobia in a previous post - my sandals have received no love lately. All I want to wear are covered flats and booties in the summer heat. I'm a strange little Noob.
In the end, everything will work out and I enjoyed our last night in the city before heading to cottage country.
Have a great weekend!

You look so cute! I love the outfit, it screams hot summer nights. Sometimes you just need to step away from the situation to feel better and it clearly worked for you, so I'm glad! your situation sounds frustrating.
ReplyDeleteWell I hope that you have a super relaxing weekend by the lake :)

Thank you! Yes, car troubles are the absolute worst but I'm glad that I didn't let it completely grump me out. You're right- it's always better to step away from a frustrating situation to see it from new eyes. Hope you have a great weekend!
DeleteLovely outfit! I hope you enjoy cottage country :). The hospital gets your long weekend as well (woot woot) so I am doing the same.

Thanks Kris! I'm taking a page out of your book and spending my weekend at the cottage :) Enjoy your long weekend as well!

Thanks Sabina, I'm glad that you like it!
DeleteI love mint and navy together--you look adorable! So sorry about the car troubles, but I know what you mean about not getting worked up over things like that. I got my first flat tire a couple of weeks ago, and even though my boyfriend and I were slightly freaking out about it, I could not stop laughing. It ended up working out thanks to some very nice people. :) Sometimes you just gotta keep moving forward and not sweat about the little things so much!

So true about not sweating the small stuff - that is definitely something that I need to work on, but I'm getting better! I remember my first flat tire, I totally freaked out! I'm glad you were able to laugh through it, that's awesome ;)
DeleteLove the combination of mint, animal print and stripes, love it :)

Thanks Amadea, have a great weekend!
DeleteI have a very similar skirt in hot pink, but I love the mint paired with leopard flats. I get worked up about things like car trouble as well and end up feeling silly after, but sometimes it takes another person to help you see the big picture. Glad your husband took you out for a drink. :)
ReplyDeletexx Abby a geek tragedy
There isn't much that a good drink doesn't fix - not in my books anyways ;) You're totally right, I felt so silly for getting frustrated about the car - especially since it all worked out in the end. Have a great weekend!
