OOTD - Ikat Bandage Skirt and Booties

Mondays always come so soon, don't they?  I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to enjoy some fantastic weather.  The weather in Toronto was near perfect - sunny and warm with the slightest breeze to cool you off.  I really can't believe that we're nearing the end of summer, so I'm trying to pack every ounce of free time up with outdoor activities, patios and fun!  This outfit is a perfect patio outfit - the Ikat mini skirt adds a lot of personality, and it balanced by a simple grey tee and my trusty pair of boots (no sandals for this gal).  Read on for additional photos and outfit details.

Bandage Skirt - Please Doing Business (similar), T-Shirt - Club Monaco
Boots - Steve Madden Plover, Tote - Madewell

This bandage skirt is something else.  It's made it 10% rubber, and really keeps everything in place - my fellow bubble-bootied sisters will know exactly what I'm talking about.  The company is Pleasure Doing Business, which I suspect has gone out of business (oh the irony).  Such a shame, since I have had this skirt for years and it still looks brand new, which is a testament to the quality.  You can still find this exact skirt, and other from the same brand on e-bay - at a heavily discounted price to what I had originally paid for it!  This look is easily replicated using any Ikat, or colourfully printed mini or bandage skirt.

Whats your go-to summer social outfit?

    1. Thanks Claire! I like pairing these boots with the Madewell transport tote as well, it seems like such a natural pairing :)

  3. You look gorgeous! My go-to summer evening look is white skinny ankle jeans, a slouchy grey v-neck, a panama hat and sandals!

  5. What a pretty skirt. 10% rubber?? That's interesting. Also, I definitely prefer boots over sandals as well.

    1. It really is interesting. It takes a couple wears to get used to the feel of the rubber - it makes the skirt very stiff. But, now that I've gotten used to the feeling I love it - it really sucks you in!

  6. Do you wear socks with your booties? If so, what kind? I love wearing my booties with skirts, dresses, and shorts but my socks always peak out! It's so annoying haha.

    2. I actually very rarely wear socks in general - I'm kind of crazy like that ;) Most of my shoes and boots have thin insoles in them that I replace frequently to keep things fresh. I wish I could find socks that are suitable for booties though (without them slipping off of your foot)
