Liebster Award - Get to Know Me

Thank you very much to the wicked talented blogger Kristiana over at Love. Loft. Life for nominating me to participate in this fun tag.  I'm not usually one to participate in tag posts, but this is a fun one and I thought it would be a great chance for us to get to know one another.  The tag starts off with listing random facts about yourself and since I already have random facts post, which I invite you to check out here, I'm going to jump right into answering specific questions that Kristiana has asked. Let's get started shall we?

What made you decide to start blogging?

Blogging had always been something that I was interested in, in that I read so many different blogs on a daily basis.  I had wanted to participate as well, but was so confused on where to start and that prevented me from ever getting anything off the ground.  Near the end of 2013, after I finally decided that I wanted to write a 30 before 30 list and blog about my experiences, I spent an entire month pouring over youtube videos and tutorial posts all geared towards starting your own blog.  Finally in December of that month I wrote my first post, and haven't looked back since. I'm so thankful that I finally found the motivation to go ahead and start blogging - what started off as a simple idea has turned into one of my biggest passions, and I'm excited to continue into the future.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

I really cannot deal with inconsiderate or insecure people.  I'm drawn to strong individuals, so I find myself really not having a lot of patience for those particular qualities in others.  That and the sound of people eating bananas - I just can't!

What recipe does everyone ask you for?

Well, I'm not really known for being much in the kitchen, so people aren't typically stampeding over to get their hands on my recipes.  Do cocktails count?

Coffee or Tea? And how do you take it?

Coffee.  I must have black coffee - a double espresso long pull to be exact.  I like a cup of tea to sooth my soul, but I need copious amounts of coffee to function properly.

What 3 words describe your personal style?

Simple, simple and simple.  I love neutral colours, simple silhouettes and effortless style.

If a movie was being made of your life, what actress would you like to portray you?

I would beg and beg Kate Middleton to take up acting, and play me in the movie of my life.  I love that lady.

Who are 5 people (dead or alive) that you would invite over for a dinner party.

John Lennon, Yoko Ono, George Harrison (yes, I purposefully left out Paul and Ringo), Jack Layton- and Lady Gaga - you know, just to make things interesting.

What household chore do you like the least, and which do you like the most?

I hate all chores, big or small!  We have a deal in our house - I do all the cooking, and my husband does all of the cleaning.  He's a neat freak, and I create mess wherever I go so it works out in the end. I am trying to be a little less messy though - one of the tasks that I'm working on for my 30 before 30 list.

What is the book that you can read over and over?

I absolutely love The Great Gatsby.  I read it for the first time in high school, and have since read it countless other times.  I really enjoyed the movie as well - of course the book is better, but the cinematography and imagery that Baz Luhrmann creates is nothing short of amazing.

Describe your perfect vacation.

I suffer from an extreme wanderlust, so any vacation that I'm travelling to new places and experiencing new cultures is absolute heaven to me - and it doesn't have to be a big to-do trip.  I'm looking forward to our upcoming vacation in Italy, but I am just as happy to jet off to New York City for the weekend - just get me on a plane, on a train, in a car with a destination in mind and I'm a happy little Noob.

What is your dream job?

Anything where I'm interacting with interesting people, continuously learning and working hard.  But - if by chance there is an opening for a professional worldwide Michelin Star restaurant critic then I'll take it.  Hire me please!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better!  I know you're supposed to nominate others at the end, but I nominate anyone who wants to participate.  Feel free to answer any of the questions in the comments below - I would love to get to know you a little better.

  1. Michelin Star restaurant critic, yes! Have you seen the docu film Three Stars? It's really good and makes you crazy hungry by the end.
    Love your answers :)
