OOTD - Shorts and Tights

Part of my 30 things to do before 30 list is to take more pride in the way I dress.  Since starting this blog, I've expanded that goal into also trying to further develop my personal style and sometimes that means venturing outside of your comfort zone and taking risks.  Wearing shorts with tights is a trend that I've admired from afar and, with this in-between winter and spring weather, I've decided to try it out for myself.  While the shorts and tights trend may not make its way into my regular outfit rotation, I'm glad that I was able to try and push myself out of that familiar comfort zone.  Read on for additional photos and outfit details.

I started out with my tried and true all black ensemble, adding a polka dot tight for texture.  These shorts are high waisted and short, so I would definitely not be venturing into public without the added layer of a long jacket, as seen below.

The jacket is one of my most-loved pieces that really helps to transition between seasons.  It's a bit of a longer cut, which is a welcome element of comfort since the outfit is a bit risqué for my typically conservative ways.

Last but not least, a gratuitous shot of my white fluffy baby Fritz - tentatively venturing out onto the balcony for the first time.
